houseeurope!

houseeurope is an eu-wide initiative to prevent further unnecessary demolition on our continent. it advocates for the reuse of out of use buildings into housing. our task was, to transform one structure, up to demolition, from a selection of swiss buildings into housing. the one chosen by me was the masoala hall. it is a natural habitat imitating the malagasi rainforest in zurich. built for the zurich zoo and meant as haven for preservation of rare flora from an endangered tropical environment. after a thorough analysis I have decided that in a scenario, where the hall is out of use, its highly functional structure should be preserved and the hall transformed into a pulmonary rehabilitation clinic.
