the up-and-coming neighbourhood of poblenou in barçelona is a diverse place going through a rapid urban transformation. for that reason we had to investigate and analyse the social and spacial configurations in the city and were given an existing block at a random place to transform. the task was to enhance the urban quality and densify it for the existing inhabitants. my proposal was several single family houses along a middle pathway. the block assigned to my project, was between a creative region and a business district. in order to unite these two worlds my block would have two squares cut out on the sides and public spaces in the lower parts of the houses. that way the pedestrians would be invited in and could have interactions with differently-mined people. the roofs of the houses would be overly long in order to melt public and private and create a smooth transition between the spaces.
